About this policy
This Privacy Policy explains what information Eden collects, how we use and share it, and the choices available to you when you use the app.
Information you provide
When you create an account or edit your profile, we may receive your account identifier, email address, display name, and profile image. We also process content you choose to create, including community prayer requests, Bible favorites, highlights, notes, reading history, devotional check-ins, app preferences, support messages, and prompts submitted to AI features.
App activity, analytics, and diagnostics
Eden uses Google Firebase and Meta app-event tools to understand app performance, improve features, and measure subscription and advertising results. Depending on the event and provider, this data may include screens viewed; onboarding progress; sign-in method; interactions with Bible, Explain, Chat with Eden, Listening, Community, sharing, and other features; Bible search terms; content or topic identifiers; paywall source; selected plan; checkout status; and trial, subscription, or purchase status.
Technical data may include app version, device model, operating system, language, approximate region derived from an IP address, installation or device identifiers, crash logs, stack traces, and diagnostics.
Eden does not intentionally send the text of AI conversations, notes, or community prayer requests to Firebase or Meta as analytics event parameters.
Tracking and advertising identifiers
Eden asks for permission through Apple’s App Tracking Transparency framework before using data to track you across apps or websites owned by other companies.
If you allow tracking, Meta and related measurement services may receive an advertising identifier and app-event data for advertising attribution and measurement.
If you deny permission, Eden will not access the advertising identifier for cross-app tracking; limited first-party analytics, fraud prevention, and crash diagnostics may still operate.
You can change this permission at any time in iOS Settings > Privacy & Security > Tracking.
How we use information
We use information to provide and personalize Bible reading, prayer, audio, community, reminders, account synchronization, AI responses, customer support, subscription access, security, troubleshooting, analytics, and product improvement.
We may also use information to prevent abuse and enforce community safety.
Community content
Prayer requests you publish are visible to other Eden users together with your display name and profile image or initial. Other users may interact with that content.
Do not publish sensitive personal information that you do not want others to see.
AI features
When you use Explain or Chat with Eden, your prompt, selected Scripture, and relevant recent conversation context are sent through Eden’s server infrastructure to Google Gemini to generate a response.
AI chat history is stored on your device; generated Bible explanations may be cached on our servers so the same passage can be served more efficiently.
Do not include confidential or highly sensitive personal information in AI prompts.
Subscriptions and purchases
Subscriptions and free trials are processed by Apple through the App Store. Apple receives and processes your payment information; Eden does not receive your full payment-card details.
To provide subscription access and measure purchase performance, Eden and its analytics providers may process the selected product and plan, product identifier, price and currency in U.S. dollars, trial or subscription status, checkout result, and an App Store transaction or order identifier after a verified purchase.
You can manage or cancel subscriptions in your Apple ID subscription settings.
Service providers and sharing
We share information only as needed to operate Eden, comply with law, protect users, complete transactions, or perform the purposes described above.
Our service providers include:
- Supabase for authentication, databases, file storage, and server functions
- Google Firebase for analytics and crash diagnostics
- Meta for app-event measurement and advertising attribution
- Google Gemini for AI responses
- Apple for Sign in with Apple, App Store purchases, and operating-system services
These providers may process data under their own terms and privacy commitments. We do not sell your personal information.
Storage and retention
Some preferences, reminders, AI chat history, and listening progress are stored locally on your device.
If you sign in, profile information, community posts, devotional check-ins, favorites, highlights, notes, and reading history may be stored with Supabase and synchronized across devices.
We retain information while it is needed to provide Eden, meet legal obligations, resolve disputes, maintain security, and enforce our agreements. Retention periods may vary by data type and service provider.
Your choices and deletion
You can change app and notification preferences in Eden or iOS Settings, edit your profile, remove content you created, sign out, or delete your account from Settings.
Account deletion removes your account, profile, uploaded avatar, community posts, and associated synced content, except where limited retention is required for legal, security, fraud-prevention, or backup purposes.
Deleting Eden from your device removes locally stored app data according to iOS behavior but does not by itself delete an Eden account.
Security and international processing
We use reasonable technical and organizational safeguards designed to protect information, but no system is completely secure.
Eden’s providers may process information in countries other than where you live, subject to their contractual and legal safeguards.
Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy as Eden evolves or legal requirements change. We will revise the date above and provide additional notice when required.
Your continued use of Eden after an update is subject to the revised policy.
